Description
Children are quick and when it goes wrong you want to be able to provide the right First Aid care.
You might also participate in this course for commercial reasons. You may work at daycare, at a school or as childminder. Then it is obligated to follow a First Aid Children course.
This First Aid Children course will teach you how to act when a acute medical problem occurs, while waiting for the professional emergency services. In addition you will learn the most common children’s injuries and diseases. To make the practice as realistic as possible lotus victims can be put in.
This course is given by a nurse and/or a first aid instructor with a worldwide recognized quality mark. 
During this course practise day you will learn how to provide first aid to infants and children during disorders in the vital functions and local injuries that occur a lot by children. You will get knowledge of the dangers that are especially dangerous for infants and children and how to fight these. Think about important point of interest like physique, the behaviour of infants and children by accidents or illness and how to react and how to perform resuscitation with an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). (Link) This will be practiced on a lotus victim. The course will be finished with a theoretic exam. When the exam has been finished successfully, you will receive an First Aid Children Basic certificate.
The lesson plan is also available for customization and there is a possibility to add special components, for example special dangers on the work floor (hazardous substances), handle aggression, or a more realistic training by means of a lotus victim or with the use of the Mobil Fire Container. Initial situation
There are no specific requirements to participate in this course.
Validity Period
The First Aid Children certificate from quality mark Emergency First Response (EFR) is valid for one year. We provide the certification also with quality marks: First Aid International (FAI), MEDIC First Aid International, Oranje Kruis, Rode Kruis or Nederlandse Vereniging Bedrijfshulpverlening (NVB). These certificates are also valid for one year. The annual refresher training is a six hour practical course. This certificate is also valid as a partial certificate for the Emergency Response Officer Children (BHV – ERO).
